Experience and enjoy a natural and remote setting complete with uncompromising luxury. Set on a 3000 acre rural property just over 2hrs from Canberra and 1hrs flight from either Sydney or Melbourne.
Kameruka is a famous old farm in the Bega Valley, NSW. It was built by an English family called the Tooth’s in 1845 who designed the surrounding estate in an English parkland style which included a truly tranquil oriental lake, cricket pitch, a clock tower and a beautiful little church. It has since been bought by another English family who have now completed a renovation of the heritage listed homestead and have turned it into a 5 star luxury accommodation.
The homestead is self-contained and can sleep up to 14 guests using the 7 double bedrooms, 5 bathrooms and plenty of comfortable living space. Guests can either choose to relax and unwind in the old established English style garden or take a walk around the beautiful estate taking in the historic village hall and other heritage buildings. For a truly unique experience you must attend the Bush Dance at the hall which is every first Saturday of the month or scour the markets at Candelo every first Sunday of the month.
The newly built swimming pool is located just by the house and there is a tennis court 3 minutes walk away on the estate and lastly for the golfers Kameruka has its own 9 hole golf course, laid out and designed by the famous Scottish golf champion Auchterlonie in 1915 which you can have access to.
However should you feel more energetic there are plenty more activities to keep you, your guests and the kids occupied. Kameruka is situated half an hour in land from Tathra, Merimbula and Pambula which are handy for the many stunning beaches, surfing and three good golf courses. We advise that you also take one of the fishing or whale watching charters at Merimbula and Eden or maybe a day out at the famous Sapphire Coast Turf Club which is within half an hour. For skiing enthusiasts Thredbo is only 1 1/2 hours drive while summer activities there include alpine walks, horse riding, mountain biking, water sports and fishing.
