Tourist Information Articles - Northern Territory

Our articles section contains an ever-growing collection of articles about travel hot spots in Australia. They're broken down into State by State articles, to make it easier to find information on the key tourist spots we recommend you might like to visit or learn more about, before making your final decision where to stay.

The Northern Territory is often called the "Top End" of Australia, and is famous for its barren desert regions, historical Aboriginal locations and big beer-drinking thirsty inhabitants.

However, perhaps its most famous tourist attraction is Ayers Rock, known world-wide for its unique shape, colour and size. Also known as Uluru, Ayers Rock is sacred to the Pitjantjatjara and Yankunytjatjara Aboriginal tribes of the area. It has many springs, waterholes, rock caves and ancient paintings.

Uluru is listed as a World Heritage Site for its natural and man-made attributes. It is one of Australia's best known natural wonders and tourist sites.
